Doing Things Worth Doing

Why are you doing what you are doing? Is it because of your routines, your interest, or is it because somebody else forces you to do it? Regardless of the sources of the cause, you may be paying attention to the inputs that you give in doing that. You may also be paying attention to the outputs that you get from doing that.

Let me just put it in a simple way. Your interest is playing games online. Some inputs must be given in order that you can play: a lot of time to play, your energy and emotion when playing, data and battery consumptions for the phone or computer, a nice setting for you to play, 'moment' of not communicating with real people in real life, and so on.

After you finish playing, you get the outputs: satisfaction with exhaustion, and maybe some points or scores for the game. You can name other types of outputs that you can get from playing game.

And the big question is: From doing that, are the outputs worth the effort in giving the inputs? If you say yes, you can just continue doing that. However, from my point of view, I don't think that the outputs are worth it.

There are so many other examples that I have in mind about this. But one thing for sure, if you are certain that what you do is worth doing, whether it is compulsory or for leisure time, make sure that it requires a lot of good inputs and you must believe that the outputs are worth it.

Why I delete my social media accounts

I often laugh when I know some persons' reaction after I say I don't have an Instagram account, or Facebook, or Twitter. They must have thought that I don't know what to do if I want to have those accounts. Anyway, it's fun to let them think that I am stupid about that.😁

Years ago when I decided to create those accounts for me, I just followed my instinct as a human who has desires. But after a few years of using them, I realized about my stupidity of 'selling' my personal life through those media. And then one by one, I deleted Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts that I have. (I am still using Youtube account for my educational reasons and Linkedin, just in case somebody asks me professionally😅, though I totally seldom open it.)

I deleted those 3 accounts because of one simple reason that I think some people will agree on; the notifications. Why should I be notified about others' personal life? I don't need that.

Besides, I appreciate my real life with real people and animals and plants. Dealing with those virtually feels empty for me. If it's for occasional entertainment, it's still acceptable. But when it becomes daily consumption, it's a big problem for me. It will become addiction. So I choose to stop.

You don't need to follow what I have done to my social media accounts. You know what you have to do with those of yours.

And you don't have to force me or someone else to have social media accounts and to do like what you do for your accounts. Everybody has their own way of regulating their personal life through the use of those media platforms.

If I have a plan of selling stuff, the real product or service, then choosing to have one account with the name of the brand is logically acceptable.

Why I choose to do one thing against my will

I assume most people will feel hurt when they are forced to do things that they don't want to do. Like, for example, when I force my friend to drink black coffee because for me it gives me some good effects for my body and my mood.

Though I know that my friend hates coffee, I still force her to drink it. Then, as a result, she gets worse effects from that coffee.

How cruel I am if I do that to my friend. So, I try to understand that there are people that still don't have empathy by forcing others to do things against those others' will.

Because updating statuses on my social media (Whatsapp is my only thing😅), is not my cup of tea, I choose not to do it for my peace of mind. However, I was finally forced to do it after some unsuccessful attempts. And the after-effect was a whole night attack of headache.

I finally chose to do that because of one simple thing. I am an adult, and I don't have to waste my energy arguing about this. It's understandable for me that there are those kinds of people who never even try to exercise their empathy.

And, if, later on, those kinds of forcing violate my personal life and my rights as a human, a bigger decision is needed. That decision is a sacrifice to avoid a lot more sufferings if I am controlled by others. Let me just be controlled by God and myself.

Are you aware of your own self?

When you are walking under the sunlight, whether in the morning, at noon, or in the afternoon, do you also check your shadow? That dark figure resulted from your body because of the sunlight? It will be very tall in the morning or afternoon, but very short or small or no shadow at noon.

You don't have to agree with my way of thinking, but don't you ever think about your shadow in the daylight? When it's getting taller, don't you ever realize that that time is when you strive for your best? Doing your job, exercising your body, competing at sport, acquiring knowledge at schools, et cetera.

My point is about maximizing that dark shadow in the daylight. That dark, tall figure of your shadow is telling you that you need to maximize your dark side to do good things for your own good.

When it's at noon, or when your shadow is getting smaller, that's the best time for you to rest for a while; doing your prayer, relaxing, restructuring your physical energy. That small dark figure is telling you to focus on your body.

Knowing that fact about you in the daylight, I am not exaggerating if I say that any human beings must be able to control their power and their own self. You, as human beings, know exactly what to do to manage yourself consciously.

Knowing the size of your dark side from that shadow, you need to know that you have to regulate your dark side in the daylight. So, if you see a person being uncontrollably angry, you should understand that he is not aware of how to regulate his emotional dark side.

I am not saying that in the daylight you are not becoming the true you, but you should have the awareness of becoming the whole you, with the acceptance of your own shadow.

At night, or from dusk till dawn, when there's no light surrounding you, no shadow of yours is shown. For me, this is the most critical time to acknowledge that your shadow is totally hidden. Then what should you do? Are you going to let that unknown dark side of yours consume you? Then later on, when you are totally possessed by your evil dark side, you will become the real you that you've never ever wanted. Do you want that? I don't think so.

Then why not doing similar things like what you do at noon; praying, relaxing, resting, reenergizing your body? It will feel even better when you are able to wake up at dawn, especially when everybody else is still unawake.

You will fall in love with the quietness of the dawn. The regularity of your listening to that quietness will result in your getting peace of mind, and, of course, healthier body. Then you will become more aware of your own self, day and night.

Come and Go

If you come to me easily
Then you are free to be gone
Never bother to feel guilty
No heart you've ever won

But have you ever wondered
About all you've done
To make me feel flattered
And think that I'm the real one

Just go away for good
If you are merely passing by
Please stay forever if you could
And never say good bye

Let's never forget
Nothing in life we should regret
You'll be forever in my heart
Our souls won't ever be apart

Everyone Poops

We live to expect to be clean. We are socially required to look spotlessly presentable. We are expected to make no mistakes so that we are not ashamed and the society won't underestimate us.

But aren't we tired to strive for perfection? There is an old saying: To err is human. We are human beings. We make mistakes. Besides, we poop.

I am not discussing something disgusting. It is very humane to poop. We need to cleanse our body, and one way is to poop. We understand that we are regularly dirty by pooping. But by doing that bodily instinctive thing, we are back to be fine again.

Then what should we do with that poop? Well, mother nature will handle that. She will take care of that. She is far smarter than the smartest person in the world, whether he is Albert Einstein or Nikola Tesla.

So, please understand that people make mistakes. In that way, they will be better. And what should we do with our mistakes that we make? Well, let life take care of that because life is always teaching us a lesson, including from our mistakes.
